This Privacy Policy is issued by Kenpai International Technology Limited, the operator of this website, in accordance with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. We have established appropriate systems and ensure that our employees observe the security and confidentiality standards prescribed by law.

1. How We Collect Your Personal Information

We may collect and use certain personal information about you, including identity and contact details. Such information may be collected from you, our accredited registrars and resellers, and will be used for specific and other directly related purposes. These purposes include, but are not limited to, keeping the details in our registration database accurate and up-to-date, handling complaints, domain-name disputes, enquiries, feedback, membership matters and providing services to you.

We may also collect personal data submitted when you request support or assistance (e.g., email address, telephone number, name).

We do NOT collect sensitive personal data such as your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, health or sex life.

If you do not provide the personal information necessary for the products and/or services you use, we may be unable to perform, or fully perform, our services and other specified purposes.

With your consent, we may occasionally use such information to send you electronic newsletters, promotions and invitations to events that we host, sponsor or promote. You may opt out of, or set preferences for, such communications at any time.

We may also use your personal information to resolve disputes when we are required to comply with any applicable laws, regulations, guidelines or policies relating to domain-name registration or other matters, or when we need to protect our or a third party’s legitimate interests (e.g., domain names).

Some information is collected through the use of “cookies.” You may be asked to enable cookie settings in your browser. Using this technology does not mean that we automatically learn anything about you, and accepting our cookies does not give us access to your computer. You may disable or refuse cookies, but doing so may prevent certain parts of the website from functioning properly, depending on your browser settings.

2. Security

When collecting personal information over the Internet, we will, where appropriate, use secure encrypted systems.

Unless otherwise provided in this Policy or with your prior consent, we will not disclose any personal information received to any unauthorised third party outside the website operator. Personal information, whether stored electronically or in hard copy, may only be accessed by our authorised employees or authorised agents such as auditors, contractors and consultants. All employees or authorised agents who process personal data will be informed of this Privacy Policy Statement and trained on how to fulfil our obligations.

This Privacy Statement applies only to the website operator. We are not responsible for the privacy, security or content of any linked third-party websites.

3. Disclosure and Sharing of Your Personal Information

Personal information held by us will be kept confidential, except where disclosure is consistent with our established business purposes, which may include publishing certain information about our registrants or making it available to other duly-accredited registrars, or where we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to identify wrongdoers. In addition, we may provide such information to:

a. any person, agent, adviser, auditor, contractor or service provider who provides services or advice in connection with our operations;

b. any person to whom we are bound by a duty of confidentiality;

c. any person to whom we are required to make disclosure under applicable laws in or outside Hong Kong; or

d. any person specified at the time of collection.

While we cannot control third-party conduct, we endeavour to engage only reliable and responsible third parties and require them to use personal information only in accordance with our instructions and for the specified purposes.

You acknowledge and accept that personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, Hong Kong or elsewhere for the purposes described herein.

4. Data Retention

Personal information you provide will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy Statement or the purposes specified at the time of collection.

5. Access and Correction

If any personal information we hold about you is incorrect, you have the right to request access to and correction of that information.

To exercise this right, please submit your enquiry or request to our Data Protection Officer by email:abuse@kenpai.net

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant authority regarding data-protection matters; however, we would appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns first before you contact the authority.
